Customizing Your Templates

Templates are great in a way, especially for the person without any experience building websites or the organization that does not have any budget for web design. After all, the typical template costs anywhere from $30 to $160. that is a lot less than the cost of an original design.

But, there are at least two problems. The first is, if you buy one off the shelf with no modification, it may not fit your needs exactly. You can add your own photos and text but is the design the BEST for your organization's needs? Sometimes the answer is yes; other times, the answer is no.

The template may need to be modified. But to modify the template usually requires special software tools and expertise, like Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver (or some HTML editor). If you have the time and money to invest- great.
