FAQFrequently Asked Questions
1. If my child has never ridden, or is a beginner, is this camp appropriate? Yes, most of our campers are new to riding. If necessary, we put the more experienced riders into separate groups during camp. You may want to send your child for a couple private lessons prior to camp.
2. What type of clothing/shoes does my child need? For winter riding camps, dress in layers. Thermals are suggested. Hats and gloves and layered socks are also suggested. For summer camps, children should wear jeans or other long pants and bring along a pair of shorts to change into for non-riding activities. ( volley ball, tether ball?)
All children should wear riding or other boots with a slight heel. No Sneakers.
3. Does my child need a riding hat? Riding helmets are required. The farm has some helmets available that your child may borrow, however, it is best that you bring along a riding helmet. One may be ordered for your child, or you may wish to purchase one at Tractor Supply, Rider's Crossing or Double M.
4. Should my child bring along a water bottle or juice? A refrigerator is in the barn and is available for use, please put your child's name on anything you send. For summer camps, it's necessary to bring along a water bottle, snacks and a lunch.
5. How do I sign my child up for camp? You may contact Nanci directly by email or you may fill out the application and mail it to the farm with your deposit. This is recommended to reserve your child's spot for the week(s) you wish to enroll. 3740 Rynex Corners Rd. Pattersonville, NY 12137
6. Can I bring a friend to visit? Not without prior notification. It is necessary that only participants (and their parents/guardian) in the camp or lessons are on the property. If you would like to invite a friend to visit who may be interested in the program, we will set up an appointment and we'll be happy to meet them and show them around.
We appreciate the word of mouth business!
