I can't thank you enough for the time and effort you put into working with my daughter Katie. As much as she loves the animals, when asked about her favorite part of each week's visit, she always says "Seeing Nanci!" Katie has made amazing progress in a very short amount of time all due to your patience and innate understanding of how to deal with a child who is multiply disabled. The whole family has been enriched by our experiences at your farm in ways to numerous to mention. I would recommend Peaceful Acres highly to anyone. Horse Power's Coaching Mission is to provide an environment for people to learn how to safely and effectively express grief, anger, fear, sadness and personal needs. Utilizing horses as the tools for emotional growth and wellness, we promote Hope, Empowerment and Connection.

Horse Power is a beneficial, experiential program which empowers people and improves their quality of life: Equine Assisted Learning has emerged at Peaceful Acres by developing activities which empower youth, families and groups. Participants who enter our programs are encouraged to participate with the horses in activities which promote improved communication, assertiveness, problem solving, teamwork, self reliance, improved self esteem, mastery of skills, conflict resolution, recognition of boundaries, action versus reaction, cooperation, caring and respect.

The horses are the tools for the activities, 90% of which are done on the ground. At the end of a coaching or therapeutic session, we notice a change in behavior and esteem. The attitude of the participant is improved, more relaxed, calm, focused and self assured! The participants look forward to coming back, seeing the horses, caring for the horses donkeys, cats and our blind goat Daisy. This is a beneficial program for all children and their families who wish to promote positive change in their lives and improve behavior, communication and especially learn to empower each other, rather than over power each other! The horses are wonderful teachers of these lessons.

Participants served through Horse Power For Youth coaching and psychotherapy program include; youth and adolescents (addressing peer and family stress/crisis and grief)  Foster Care Orgsnizations, Youth Organizations of Schenectady County, Counseling Offices and Mental Health Clinics and victims (survivors - surpassors) of domestic violence and high conflict divorce.
