Official Photo History 1993 - Present
We are pleased to announce the availability of the on-line "Photo History of the Prayer Vigil for the Earth from 1993 to 2006." The Photo History presents a visual record of the rich tapestry of participants, cultures, religions and beliefs that incorporate the Prayer Vigil. We have selected images that we believe are representative of the experience of the Vigil since its inception in 1993. Text has been included with each image that identifies the participant or event and provides more in-depth information and context. We believe the text is as important as the image itself.
You will find two thumbnail images on the right of your screen: one for photos from the 2006 Prayer Vigil and one for the Photo History 1993-2006. You may access either portfolio at your leisure. Please note that the images from the 2006 portfolio do not carry any text, just the photos from the Photo History.
Once you click on the Photo History thumbnail, you will see a short description of the Photo History at the top of your screen. Below the text will be a series of image thumbnails from the Photo History. To access the image with text, please click on the first image. This will bring an enlarged version of the first image - a cover page introducing the Photo History - with text on the right side of your screen. In the upper right hand corner of the screen, you will see the word "NEXT" with the next image above it. Click on the image to go forward to "Table of Contents." Repeat the procedure to review the entire collection of images with associated text.
You may alternatively select the "Slide Show" button at the top of your Photo History home page. This will present the Photo History as a slide show. The slide show does not include the text associated with the image unless you pass your mouse over the little balloon on the lower right hand corner of your screen. To move onto the next image, you must move your mouse off the balloon, wait for the next image to appear, and run your mouse over the balloon again to see text.
You may download an image by clicking on the upper left hand corner of the image. If you are going to use the image for web sites or publication, we ask that you provide proper Prayer Vigil for the Earth citation with the image. The images are copyrighted by the Prayer Vigil.
You may also order prints of any image directly through Zenfolio (the creators of this photo gallery application). To order prints, please click on the image of your choice (this service is not available on Slide Show). In the upper right hand corner of the screen, please click on "Add to Cart." This will bring up a screen with print products available from EZ Prints Lab. Click on the "+" tab to select the size of print and number of prints for the selected photo. Click on "Add to Cart and Continue." After you click on "Add to Cart and Continue," Zenfolio brings you back to the image you selected. You can select further images for prints and mix print sizes and paper surfaces all in one order. When finished with your order, please click on "Checkout" on the EZ Prints Lab screen and follow the instructions.
