JOIN THE COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY CLUB OF NEW YORK

 

 

 

 

1.  ELIGIBILITY

All graduates of Columbia University, including degree-holders from Barnard College and Teachers College, are eligible for membership. Also eligible are current Columbia faculty, administrators, and current full-time graduate and undergraduate students.

 

2.  MEMBERSHIP RATES

Membership is divided geographically into three areas: Resident, Suburban, and Nonresident. Within each category there are discounts for full-time faculty members, retirees, members of the clergy, and graduate students. Definitions of these categories can be found at the bottom of the page.

 3.  REQUESTING A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

Only eligible candidates will be considered for membership.

1)  Your name and address

2)  The year you received your undergraduate degree and the college that granted it [even if that is not your Columbia degree]

3)  The years/degrees you received from Columbia [if different from above]

All applications must be approved by the Club’s Admissions Committee, which meets once each month, usually on the second Monday of the month.  For further details on the application process, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

 

   

CATEGORY DEFINITIONS:

RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP

is open to those who either live or work in the five boroughs of New York City.

 

SUBURBAN MEMBERSHIP

is open to those who both live and work outside New York City, but within a 50-mile radius of the Club. We measure this distance in air miles and use Hagstrom’s map as our guide.

 

NONRESIDENT MEMBERSHIP

is open to those who both live and work outside the 50-mile radius from the Club. We measure this distance in air miles and use Hagstrom’s map as our guide.

 

FULL-TIME GRADUATE STUDENTS

are eligible for a discounted rate if they attend graduate school full-time and are under age 30 at the time of application.

 

FULL-TIME FACULTY MEMBERS

and staff at Columbia and at any accredited university, college, primary school, or secondary school are eligible for an educational discount.

 

CLERGY MEMBERS

who minister full-time to a congregation are eligible for a clerical discount.

 

RETIREES

who have reached the age of 65 and are retired from active business are eligible for a discount.
